Hating the way that Project Wonderful changed :/ Not all those ads I'm used to seeing are just "Your ad here" because I'm from Canada, and no one advertises solely to Canada. Stupid stupid stupid.

@Mag: Well, the McLaughlin Group is a political discussion show on US TV and these are Goblins. Also I changed the settings so that non-US users now see at least the fun RPGeneric Ad... I am not a fan of that "Ad-sense" thing myself. I think all it does is divide the income for me. Oh, and Mag... you can just change your settings from Canada to US in your Project Wonderful Profile, that way you can totally go around that.

Hmm... apparently Geotargeting does not work that way. It logs where you are from regardless of your information. I have to say, if they don't make that optional soon, I will get rid of that adbox. I don't want to be part of that ridiculous initiative these days to make the internet suddenly more local again instead of keeping it international.

Damn, I could have used that idea yesterday, lol... Not like McLaughlin himself is all that coherent. ^_^

I sent them feedback asking them to make an option as a seller to let me provide "Anywhere in the world" as an option... I understand why some people would prefer marketing based on geographic location. Those are the people who don't understand the internet, or how it can make them money.

But I am in agreement. I liked PW because it was a good idea, but this is a step in the wrong direction, and maybe if enough people take off their ads, they'll realize it.

@Mag: Yes, I did the same. They did reply with some good reasons for people who care only about reaching target groups, but for us, who use this also as an outreach to others in the community, this is all wrong. And they couldn't explain why you can't simply choose "All of the above".
Like I said, I will likely get rid of the adbox then and rather make my own little link-bar down there for my Top-5 comic-pals.
So I may sucker you for a little banner at some point ^_^
