Page 3 of Rise of Floon. I am extraordinarily happy with this one. I am usually quite critical of my own work, but this one actually had me smiling a lot when it was done. Without sounding like I don't appreciate the roots of RPGeneric, but I think I have finally succeeded in separating myself enough from OotS to believe that I have my own art-style here.
Anyways, enough of the self-praise. ^_^ The Grell-jokes continue to fly and of course we get some brand-spanking-new evildoers here. Expect to see a lot of these guys. The entire story is after all a D&D campaign, to which we will soon enough come and in order to get to the main villain, you always have to cut your way through some other minions.
I will soon add some character-sheets and monster-statistics.
wow. you were right. this one does kick page 2's ass. Again great work with the gradients, as well as shading. You're really good at shading, it's very subtle and just looks totally natural. And the supreme tyrant zarcazz looks like he took a while to do. but he looks great. And the portal on the last page looked good...but this one looks spectacular!...great job with the lightning-y stuff. And THEN, the last frame is hilarious, IMO. The cherry on top. Great job.
@Shaggers: Wow, that's a whole big ole pile of praise there. Thanks for that. Now breathe. ^_^
@Blatz: Yeah, I have to agree with Shaggers on that one too. It looks a lot less slapped together as it surely did in the beginning of RPGeneric, but it's nice to hear it from other people too. ^_^
That's the coolest Beholder I've ever seen, and thats including the official TSR ones. They've just never made the most of that species, the little scales and stuff make yours so cool. Also, Lucren must have worked hard to climb up the Drow chain of command, considering the glass ceiling for Drow men. I bet he still only gets paid 60% of what a female Praetor would make though.
The lighting on the illithids faces in the last panel is great:)
hehe, I am glad I guilt-tripped you into commenting. Praise from the Emperor of Discord is always appreciated. Funny enough, my girl said the same about that Beholder. ^_^
Glad it is so well liked, I will make sure to make the best out of him. Can't wait to feature him with full eye-attacks.
PS: TSR is history, dude.. it's all WotC now. ^_^
PPS: Lucren is surely inspired by Jarlaxle, just more evil.
That is one damn awesome Beholder! I love how the dangly bits sort of look like a Fu Manchu, giving him this Chinese Mafia like look. If I had to get beat down by a Beholder, I'd hope it was one as bad ass as he looks ;)
CRAP!! I missed the 5 and hit 'Accept' giving you a lowly 3 for this masterpiece ;( I would take it back if I could, and give it a 6 if I could :( I'm sorry :( :(
@Mag: See? Was that so hard? ^_^
@Guy: Actually they have owned it for quite a while, so unless you're like really ancient... lol, just kidding.
@Bromo: Is a five from down under a evif> Still sounds good to me. ^_^
No, when it is obviously pointed out with instructions and the diagram that you sent me, along with the Video Professor video, and the remote computing in which you technically did 90% of the mousing work... It was easy!
