Effigy_Power Well, by broad definition a blasphemer insults the faith, a heretic insults dogma. In medieval history the punishment for both was burning at the stake, so you might as well kick a priest while you're at it.
The title is obviously a reference to the stoning-scene in "Life of Brian".
I mean, you didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition, did you?

PS: RPGeneric has reached 50 Issues... I am glad and happy!

00Davo Ha, love it.

I think you should have italicised "heretic" in the last panel, though. I had to read it very carefully to spot the subtle modification.

Effigy_Power Yeah, you are right, it is a little subtle.

ThornsInOurSide Dammit, I thought Pax Dei was only enforced with spiritual sanctions, not with burning at the stake!

Guy Incognito Gotta make sure you punish the right sin, measure twice, burn once I always say.

Blatz_ztalB Burn on the stake!

I still dig the little lion emblems (^^)

Magravan

Magravan If I ever join some crazy burning people cult / religion, I hope their iconography is as nice as that lion :D

I noticed we're on the friends of RPGeneric! So we get invited to all the cool parties right?

Effigy_Power @Thorns: Well, here we are dealing with the cronies of "a" god, not maybe "the" god this may seem to reflect, so a bit of artistic freedom is there.
@Guy: Well, you don't want him to get into the wrong circle of hell, right? Later he sits there with all the cool demons saying he snubbed some deity, when all he really did was steal some frilly dress from a cardinal.
@Blatz: hehe, I wanted to use another guard, but I do like the Lion, it turned out so cute. ^_^
@Mag: That's weird, I'd think you'd just not want to be burned. And yes, TOGM is a personal partner of the "RPGeneric Foundation for World Domination, Mars Habitation and more new salad dressings."
Table costs $45,000.
