Ah yes, the exciting conclusion of the introductory story of RPGroup.
Now that all the legal issues are settled and the basement in Phil's house is once again free of lawsuits, we can finally jump to the actual story, beginning next week with the introduction of a villain the likes which have not been seen in such form before...
...mostly because he's surrounded by idiots.
@Smash: That is quite the compliment. Thank you. That pretty much made my day.
@Shaggers: Damnit, you are right. I knew I remembered the shape from somewhere. Well, credit is due. Little minions inspired by Shagger's demons, yet also by Satan's minions in South Park. ^_^
Oops. Sorry Narcotic, I deleted your comment by accident, I actually wanted to delete my own above it and just move it lower...
Thanks for the praise tho.

Ah, safe behind the wall of parody! Just make sure not to borrow from any J. D. Salinger, he'll even sue you for a satire...
But seriously, this storyline brings up some interesting issues about intellectual property and the remix culture, and indeed this borrowing of ideas has been present in dungeons and dragons since the very beginning when Gary Gygax essentially "plagiarized" JRR Tolkien, who himself essentially plagiarized Beowulf and other classical mythology. There is nothing new under the sun.
Yeah, I don't think there are any Fantasy-fans who haven't had this discussion at least once.
Tolkien clearly admitted that he had taken much if not almost everything from the Nibelungen-Saga, which isn't surprising considering he was a scholar of Germanic folklore.
And really every Fantasy-writer after then is indebted to that and has to take from it, just as SciFi-writers will never be able to escape Jules Verne. Every dystopian film-maker is tied to Fritz Lang and so on and so on.
The trick is to not take these things to seriously. The original draft of the final episode was the group slaughtering Mickey Mouse as a conceived Wererat, but didn't really solve the problem for the players.
